A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a Stroud man was found with a stab wound to his back.
The injured man, 49, was found on a canal footpath between the two new roundabouts on the A419, near the station, at about 06:15 GMT.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers have arrested a 54-year-old Stroud man on suspicion of assault.
