Officers seize illegal cigarettes in Gloucestershire

Nearly 20,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized in a raid on 10 shops in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.

A "large quantity" of contraband alcohol and 96 pornographic DVDs that were not marked as age restricted were also found.

The two-day operation led by trading standards officers included revenue and customs officers, council officials and police.

Some cigarettes were counterfeit while duty had not been paid on others.
