Seven staff members have been sacked from the Braintree care home

A fourth woman has been arrested by detectives investigating allegations of abuse by staff at an Essex home after a Panorama investigation.

The broadcast in April appeared to show undercover footage of residents of the Old Deanery in Braintree, being taunted, roughly handled and ignored.

Essex Police arrested three women in May in connection with the inquiry.

Now a woman in her 40s from Braintree has been arrested. She has been released on police bail until August.

The other three women have been released on bail until July.

Seven staff members have been sacked from the home since the BBC Panorama television broadcast on 30 April.

The 93-bed home is run by Anglia Retirement Homes Ltd.
