Castle Park, Colchester Four people were assaulted in the park on Saturday

Police are looking for a "pot-bellied", flat cap-wearing man after an assault at a medieval fayre in Essex.

Four people were attacked at the Medieval Festival in Colchester's Castle Park at about 17:30 BST on Saturday.

Three women and a man, all from Colchester, were punched in the face, the back of the head and kicked by several suspects, police said.

One of the offenders being sought had a pot belly and was in his 50s.

Essex Police have appealed to anyone who may have taken footage of the attack on mobile phones or similar devices to come forward.

The Medieval Festival is better known for its historic re-enactments, medieval market stalls and music and drama from the 15th and 16th Centuries.
