Epping Rowley Meade fire tackled by 30 firefighters

Up to 30 firefighters have put out a blaze in a terrace of houses in Essex.

The roofs of three homes in Rowley Meade in Epping were "about 70% alight" at the height of the blaze which took hold at about 13:10 BST.

No-one was injured but seven people, including a pregnant woman, would not be able to return to their homes, an Essex Fire Service spokesman said.

A number of other houses in the terrace were also damaged by the smoke, he added.
