No charge for man held over fatal Essex stabbing

A 57-year-old man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Essex has been released without charge and will face no further action.

A murder investigation began when a 24-year-old man from the Southend area was stabbed at an address in Cressing Road, Braintree, on Wednesday night.

He died later in hospital. A second man was injured during the incident, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

A 24-year-old man held on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

A 20-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on police bail.

She is due to report back to police on 30 May.
