Murder investigation after Essex stabbing

A murder inquiry has been launched in Essex after a man died from stab wounds to his chest.

The 24-year-old from the Southend area was stabbed at an address in Cressing Road, Braintree, at about 23:00 BST on Wednesday. He died in hospital later.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by officers.

A 57-year-old man from Braintree was also arrested earlier in connection with the incident.

A 20-year-old woman, also from Braintree, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A second man was injured during the incident, but his injuries are not life threatening, police said.
