A man from the Chelmsford area suffered facial injuries at the Brownstock Festival at Stow Maries on Saturday 31 August last year

A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault at an Essex music festival.

It follows facial injuries suffered by a 30-year-old man from the Chelmsford area at the Brownstock Festival at Stow Maries on Saturday 31 August last year.

James Bowser, 25, of Crown Way, Southminster has been charged with wounding with intent.

He has been bailed to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on 2 April.
