Fourteen charged over Essex cannabis raids

Fourteen people have been charged after police recovered 2,400 cannabis plants and several kilogrammes of the drug during two raids in Essex.

Some 1,600 plants were found at the disused Belvedere pub on Harding's Elms Road in Crays Hill on Saturday night.

Seven men and a woman, from Suffolk and London, were charged with offences and are due at Basildon Magistrates' Court.

In a separate raid in Ongar on Friday 800 plants were found and six people charged with drugs offences.
