Colchester bus lane fines waived by council

10 January 2014 Last updated at 11:06 GMT

About 30,000 drivers who have paid a total of £1m in fines for using bus lanes in Colchester, Essex, are to be repaid after a council agreed the signs were unclear.

The lanes were reintroduced by Essex County Council in October.

But now the fines are to be refunded or waived because of a lack of "clarity".
