Mark Czapla Mark Czapla is charged with the murder of Kirsty Humphrey

A 24-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a young woman in Essex.

Kirsty Humphrey, 23, was found dead in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, at about 07:30 BST on Wednesday.

Mark Czapla, also from Queen Elizabeth Way, was remanded in custody by Chelmsford magistrates and is due to appear at crown court on Tuesday.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Humphrey died from stab wounds to her neck and chest. Police are continuing to appeal for information.
