Thorrington road crash baby dies in hospital

A nine-month-old baby girl has died in hospital following a road crash in Essex.

The collision, on the B1027 Clacton Road, Thorrington, took place between a Land Rover and Hyundai about 09:40 BST on Friday.

The baby and her mother were airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge. The girl's mother remains "serious but stable", police said.

A man, 61, from St Osyth, was arrested at the scene and released on bail.

Three other children, all girls, were taken to Colchester General Hospital, along with a man.

The children have all now been discharged while the man remains in hospital, where his condition is described as stable
