Billericay car gun shots pair jailed for seven years each

Two men who fired a gun at an empty BMW in a drive-by shooting in Essex have been jailed for seven years each.

Patrick Flanigan, from Benfleet, and John Turner, of no fixed abode, were convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The pair, both 27, shot at the car in Mill Road, Billericay, last May.

Flanigan, a driver from Oak Road South, and Turner, a maintenance worker, were convicted in February and returned to Basildon Crown Court for sentencing.

Flanigan was also convicted of being in possession of CS spray.

Both men had been remanded in court custody after conviction.
