A man believed to be missing following an assault in Colchester has made contact with police.
Thomas Brittain, 26, was thought to have been attacked in Clarendon Way at about 21:30 BST on Friday.
A police spokesman said witnesses had reported the victim being bundled into a black Ford Mondeo and driven away from the scene.
Mr Brittain contacted police on Saturday afternoon to confirm he was safe and well.
Fire damages ten lorries at firm
Ten lorries and 100 tyres are hit by fire at a container company close to the M25 in Essex.
