Missing Colchester man found safe and well

A man believed to be missing following an assault in Colchester has made contact with police.

Thomas Brittain, 26, was thought to have been attacked in Clarendon Way at about 21:30 BST on Friday.

A police spokesman said witnesses had reported the victim being bundled into a black Ford Mondeo and driven away from the scene.

Mr Brittain contacted police on Saturday afternoon to confirm he was safe and well.
