Clacton hospital patient David Royle found dead in sea

A body found in the sea off Essex was the missing hospital patient David Royle, police have said.

Police were searching for the 66-year-old since he was last seen in the Boley Drive area of Clacton on Friday.

At about 12:00 BST on Wednesday, Mr Royle's body was spotted from the air by police helicopter staff in the sea off Holland Haven.

The circumstances surrounding the death are not suspicious, police have said. An inquest will be held in due course.
