Doubts over conservation value of man-made salt marshes
A new report has raised doubts over a programme to create man-made salt marshes designed to save sections of our vanishing coastline.
The report says the man-made marshes, created under managed retreat as the coastline erodes, are not as rich in wildlife as natural marsh and fail to meet European standards on conservation.
