Five arrested over 17-year-old's death in Colchester bailed

Five people arrested on suspicion of murdering a 17-year-old boy at a party in Essex organised through Facebook have been released on police bail.

Jay Whiston, a 17-year-old A-level student from the Clacton area, died after he was stabbed in Marlowe Way, Colchester, on Saturday night.

Five people from Colchester were arrested over the following days.

The two men, aged 18, and three boys, aged 17, have been released on police bail until 17 October.

Police said a provisional post-mortem examination found he died from a stab wound.

Police believe a knife was used in the killing.
