Man charged with murder after Chelmsford street assault

A man has been charged with murdering a 27-year-old Albanian national who was assaulted in Essex.

The victim, who has not been formally identified, was left with a head injury after the attack in Duke Street, Chelmsford, on Sunday.

The man, from the London area, died on Monday afternoon at Broomfield Hospital.

Jamie Waters, 29, from Andyk Road, Canvey Island, will appear before Chelmsford Magistrates later.

A 28-year-old man from Chelmsford has been released on bail on suspicion of affray until November.
