Tributes have been paid to a 37-year-old mother-of-four who died after being attacked at her home in Harlow, Essex.

Claire Parrish died in hospital after being found injured in Copshall Close on Sunday night.

Her family issued a statement describing her a "loving mother" and "devoted nan".

The statement adds: "Words cannot describe how amazing she was to all who knew her well. She was very beautiful, lively and very much loved."

It says: "We are grieving terribly and we would ask please that we are left in private to do so. We are all feeling total shock and desperate sadness that our Claire has been tragically, and brutally, taken from us."

A provisional post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was a blunt force trauma which caused internal bleeding.

Mark Golds, 45, also of Copshall Close, has been charged with murder and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court where he was remanded in custody to Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday.
