A 23-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering his heavily pregnant ex-partner in Essex.

Tony McLernon, of North Grove, Harlow, is also charged with killing 20-year-old Eystna Blunnie's unborn child.

Miss Blunnie, who was due to give birth within days, died in hospital after she was found fatally injured in Howard Way, Harlow, at 03:00 BST on 27 June.

No pleas were entered during the brief hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court. The case was adjourned until 24 September.
