Rottweiller owner apologises for attack on Southend beach

The owner of a rottweiler which attacked a seven-year-old boy on Southend beach has apologised on his way into court.

Builder Rowan Diedrick, 29, from North London, was appearing at Basildon Crown Court after earlier admitting having a dog dangerously out of control.

He was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
