Driver dies in vodka lorry fire on M25 in Essex

A 45-year-old lorry driver died when a lorry laden with vodka caught fire in a crash on the M25 in Essex.

The vehicle collided with another lorry between junctions 27 and 28 near Brentwood at about 01:00 BST. The second driver suffered minor injuries.

It happened after police set up a rolling roadblock to slow traffic and remove debris from an HGV tyre blowout from the carriageway.

The crash led to the closure of the motorway in both directions.

A separate crash on the A414 at North Weald, Essex, near its junction with the M11, caused further tailbacks in the county.

Two cars and a lorry were involved in the collision at about 05:10 BST.

Essex Police said there were no reports of any injuries.
