Sir Trevor Brooking opens Helen Rollason cancer centre

Former England footballer Sir Trevor Brooking has opened a new cancer research centre in Essex.

The Helen Rollason Research Centre at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford will support patients on clinical trials to develop effective cancer treatments.

It was named in honour of BBC sports presenter Helen Rollason who died of cancer in 1999. She was a friend of Sir Trevor, who is director of football development at the Football Association.
