Charmouth crash suspect, 83, quizzed over cyclist death

A cyclist visiting Dorset has been killed in a crash on the A35 road.

Police believe the cyclist, a 43-year-old man, was hit from behind by a silver hatchback car while travelling westbound up a hill away from the Charmouth roundabout.

The driver, an 83-year-old man, is being questioned by police following the crash, which happened at about 15.30 BST on Saturday.

The road was closed for about six hours and police are appealing for witnesses.
