Five people rescued from flat fire in Southbourne

Flat fire in Church Road in Southbourne An investigation will take place into the cause of the fire

Five people, including three children, have been rescued from a fire in a block of flats in Dorset.

The blaze broke out in the top floor of the three-storey building in Church Road, in the Southbourne area of Bournemouth.

Crews were called at 11:40 BST and six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were used to tackle the blaze.

The road was closed between St Catherine's Road and Warren Edge Road. The cause is not yet known.
