Poole crane fall leaves man with head injuries

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Part of the A35 was closed for a time due to the 'industrial incident' in St Aldhelms Road

A man has suffered head injuries after falling from a crane on a building site in Poole.

The ambulance service said the workman fell 4ft (1.2m) from the equipment in St Aldhelms Road.

Firefighters used a ladder to bring him down from scaffolding. He was then taken to hospital for treatment.

The A35 Poole Road, between County Gates Gyratory and Redlands Roundabout, was closed for a time but reopened less than an hour later.

Dorset Police also advised motorists to stay away from the area due to the "industrial incident".
