Customers and staff were evacuated from a pub in Dorset after a fire broke out inside.

The fire spread from the chimney of the King's Arms pub in North Street, Wareham, to the thatched roof.

It took about 25 firefighters about four hours to extinguish the fire, which started at about 20:00 GMT.

Ralph Breeds, who works at the pub, said about 20 customers were in the building when the fire started, but no-one was hurt.

Mr Breeds said a clean-up of the pub began overnight, and said it was expected to open as usual.
