Two teenagers were rescued after becoming stuck in deep mud while out dog walking in Dorset.

They became stuck on Wednesday evening after walking in an area with deep patches of mud between solid ground.

The stranded pair, who had become stuck up to their thighs, were pulled out by firefighters close to Peverell Avenue East, in Poundbury, Dorchester.

The fire service urged walkers to take extreme care because recent bad weather had left the ground saturated.
