Bournemouth shop staff detain 'gunman' in street

Shop staff have confronted and detained a man following an alleged armed robbery in Bournemouth.

A man was claimed to have threatened staff with a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes at Bingham Stores in Alma Road on Sunday.

Dorset Police said they were called at about 22:50 GMT amid reports of a robbery and a man who had been apprehended in the street.

A 40-year-old man of no fixed address remains in custody, Dorset Police said.
