Explosion blows roof off house in Dorset

The roof of a house was blown off and windows blown out by an explosion in Dorset, the fire service has said.

A leaking liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder in the kitchen of the home in Langham, west of Gillingham, was ignited when the immersion heater switched on.

Two fire crews isolated the electricity supply and removed the cylinder after being called at 07:10 GMT.

The blast caused significant structural damage to the property.
