Two arrested after five hurt in Dorchester crash

Two people have been arrested following a crash in Dorset that left a woman with "life changing" injuries.

Five people were taken to hospital after the crash on the A35 Puddletown bypass in the early hours of Sunday.

A Peugeot left the road near the Bockhampton junction at about 01:10 GMT and "travelled some distance into hedgerows", Dorset Police said.

Two men, aged 18 and 22, from Dorchester, were arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving.

They have been bailed until mid-January.

The injured woman, who was a passenger in the Peugeot, suffered a serious head injury and remains in a medically induced coma in hospital, police said.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the black Peugeot or a red Renault around the time of the crash to get in touch.
