A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected hit and run which left a child's micro scooter rider dead near Poole.

The body of Daniel Robbie, 23, from Bournemouth, was found in undergrowth on a verge next to the Upton bypass dual carriageway on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the location was the eastbound A35 between the A350 flyover and the Holes Bay roundabout.

A 26-year-old man, from Blandford, was questioned and bailed.

Police have not revealed what he was arrested on suspicion of.

It is thought a vehicle collided with the man in the early hours of Saturday but failed to stop.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into Mr Robbie's death and heard he died from multiple injuries.
