Man dies after Poole house fire

A man has died following a fire at his home in Poole, Dorset.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the semi-detached home in Beamish Road, Canford Heath just before 17:00 BST on Tuesday.

The man in his 60s was rescued from the property by firefighters and taken by ambulance to Poole Hospital, but later died.

Police, together with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service are investigating the cause of the fire.

A collection of snakes also rescued from the house were passed on to the RSPCA.
