A driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a 16-year-old girl in Dorset by careless driving .

Moped rider Jade Clark, from Ringwood, Hampshire, died in a crash on the A31 in Dorset on 24 February.

Brian Hampton, 58, also admitted two counts of driving while disqualified and two counts of driving without insurance at Bournemouth Crown Court.

He denied charges of perverting the course of justice, failing to stop and failing to report an accident.

Hampton, of Hornash Lane, Shadoxhurst, near Ashford, Kent, was remanded in custody and will face trial at Bournemouth Crown Court on 16 September.

Jade was a member of Hampshire's Young Firefighters' Association.

A memorial created at Ringwood fire station by fellow cadets opened earlier this month on what would have been Jade's 17th birthday.
