Wimborne school bus crash: Car driver dies

A car driver has died after a collision with a school bus in Dorset.

The 23-year-old woman was driving a Mini Cooper car which collided with the bus in Horton shortly after 08:00 BST on Tuesday.

She was taken to hospital in Poole but died later of her injuries.

Twenty-six pupils from Queen Elizabeth's School in Wimborne suffered injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to a suspected spinal injury. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Dorset Police said the woman's family had been informed, as had staff and pupils at the school involved.

The vehicle, owned by Sea View Coaches, was carrying 45 pupils, aged 14-18, from the Alderholt area.
