A driver has been remanded in custody over the death of a Hampshire teenager.

Brian Hampton, 58, is accused of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop after an accident.

The charges relate to the death of Jade Clark, 16, from Ringwood, who died when her moped was involved in a crash on the A31 in Dorset on 24 February.

Mr Hampton, of Shadoxhurst near Ashford, Kent, appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court earlier by video link and was remanded until 22 April.

He also faces three charges of driving while disqualified and three of driving without insurance.

The case will be committed to Bournemouth Crown Court.
