Ryde Harbour body-find prompts police inquiry

A man's body has been discovered in a harbour off the Isle of Wight.

Hampshire Constabulary detectives launched an investigation after the body was found in Ryde Harbour shortly before 12:30 GMT.

A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on Wednesday to establish how he died but police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Detectives said he had not yet been formally identified and they were tracing his next-of-kin.

They added the man is not linked to any missing person's inquiry.
