Sheep being rescued from floodwater Four of the lambs died in the fast-flowing water on Sunday

Four lambs have died after becoming trapped in floodwater in Dorset.

Rescuers in boats managed to herd 10 sheep and two other lambs to safety when they became stranded close to the River Char near Whitchurch Canonicorum.

Four of the lambs were not reached in time and died in the fast-flowing water on Sunday afternoon.

Later the same day, fire crews were called to rescue three people from a car that became stuck in floodwater in Burton Bradstock.
