German sailor airlifted by UK coastguard after dislocating shoulders
The captain of a German warship called the coastguard after one of his crewman dislocated both his shoulders.
A sailor on the Niedersachsen, which was 25 miles (40km) south of Portland Bill, was airlifted to hospital.
The Lee-on-the-Solent coastguard helicopter was scrambled following the call at 21:13 GMT on Thursday.
It is believed the man was injured playing sport, and coastguard spokeswoman Maddy Davey said it was a "reasonable request" to evacuate him.
She added: "The medical officer on board had managed to relocate one of his arms but the second one was still dislocated and they therefore requested a medical evacuation."
