CCTV of two men wanted over a "nasty" sex attack on a woman in Dorset during an attempted robbery has been released by detectives.

The 23-year-old victim, from Bournemouth, was walking in the city's Commercial Road on Sunday at about 07:00 GMT when she was set upon.

She had just passed two men when one of them turned and caught up with her.

The victim was pulled to the ground where she was kicked and punched.

'Extremely distressed'

She was then sexually assaulted by the man who threatened the woman and tried to steal her handbag.

A passer-by approached the attacker, who fled the scene.

Det Con Steve Griffin, of Bournemouth CID, appealed for information and said: "This is a very nasty incident which left the victim extremely distressed.

"Luckily the attack was interrupted and she was not injured."
