London 2012: Weymouth farewell to Olympics and Paralympics
Weymouth has said farewell to its involvement in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Schoolchildren, volunteers, artists and musicians took part in the Moving Tides procession along the seafront, with costume themes ranging from Olympic sailing to Jurassic sea creatures.
The Cultural Olympiad event was originally scheduled to welcome the Olympic torch relay to Weymouth in July but severe weather meant it had to be postponed.
Weymouth and Portland hosted the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events.
