Olympics blamed for Weymouth broadband delay


Businesses hoping for a boost after the Olympic sailing events in Weymouth say technology is holding them back.

Both Weymouth and Portland were due get superfast broadband in time for the London 2012 sailing events.

It arrived in Portland, but neighbouring Weymouth has been told it will have to wait until next year.

BT blamed restrictions on pre-Olympics construction work for the hold-up.
