Yellow lines removed in Bournemouth after review

More than half a mile of yellow lines are to be removed from roads in a Dorset seaside town in an effort to improve parking.

Bournemouth Borough Council said it would scrub out 921m (1,007 yards) of painted lines in 15 streets.

The authority said residents were invited to nominate locations with unneccesary restrictions during a review.

About 150 parking spaces will be created through the changes.

Lines have already been removed in Boscombe's Sea Road, Michelgrove Road and The Marina. More are to be taken away including some in Winton's Denmark Road and in Malmesbury Park Road.

The council said it was continuing to take suggestions from residents on changes to parking restrictions.
