Plans to improve mental health in Dorset

People are being asked to give their views on new plans to provide mental health services for older patients in Dorset.

The county's Clinical Commissioning Group has four main proposals including a dedicated early diagnosis service.

It also wants to establish an immediate response team to assess patients in the community.

While inpatient care at Alderney Hospital is to be upgraded and community teams better coordinated.

The chair of the commissioning group, Dr Forbes Watson, said: "We have sought the views of local residents and are now keen to implement the proposals.

"Going forwards, we hope to start making the changes to be ready for the new services to be in place next year and welcome your feedback."
