Living and studying in Thomas Hardy's house

Help

An English Literature student from the United States is living in Thomas Hardy's former house while she works on her thesis about the author.

Jacqueline Dillion originally went to visit the property, near Dorchester, but after finding the tenancy was available she ended up moving in.

The National Trust property called Max Gate was the famous author's home from 1885 until his death in 1928.
