A climber who had to be airlifted from a cliff in Dorset after falling about 60ft (18m) has died, police said.

Portland Coastguard was alerted at 1405 BST on Saturday that a man had fallen off a cliff at Blacknor Fort, Blacknor Point, on Portland.

The coastguard helicopter airlifted him to Dorset County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious, but was thought to be the result of an "accident".
