Man arrested after Tiverton stabbing

Police searching for a man after a woman was stabbed in Devon have made an arrest.

A manhunt initially involving armed police and a helicopter began after the attack in Tiverton on Friday evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the 44-year-old man they were looking for was known to the woman, 27, who suffered a "number of significant injuries".

A man has been arrested in London and will be taken to the South West for questioning on Sunday, police said.

The woman's injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

Emergency services, including armed police, were called to the old railway line in Cowleymoor at about 17:30 BST on Friday.

The woman had been stabbed there and was taken to hospital.
