Boy hit by lorry on crossing in Devon dies

A 12-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a skip lorry on a zebra crossing in Devon, police have said.

The boy was treated at the scene on Topsham Road, between Exeter and Topsham, by a member of the public and paramedics.

He was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he died, police said.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 15:10 BST. The road was closed during investigations.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
