Major tailbacks after A38 and A380 crashes

Heavy rain and hail may have contributed to a 24-vehicle crash which has caused tailbacks on one of Devon's main roads, say police.

Three people were injured in the accident on the A380 at Ideford Dip. Emergency services are at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the weather may have contributed to a second crash on the A38.

Two cars were involved in a collision on the westbound carriageway near Chudleigh.

The driver of one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries.

Poor visibility and standing water on the roads have prompted police to urge drivers to slow down and take extra care,

They said many motorists were approaching the A380 accident scene "at speed".
