Two Devon towns are to get more than £2m from the Big Lottery's Coastal Communities Fund to create new projects to help local regeneration.

Teignbridge District Council has been awarded £1.8m to create an arts and enterprise centre in Teignmouth.

Seaton is to receive £302,000 to build a visitor centre to tell the story of the area's Jurassic Coast.

The Communities Fund said the schemes were two of more than 50 projects in the UK awarded a share of £27.7m.

East Devon's Jurassic Coast, England's first Unesco World Heritage Site, features rocks and fossils which record 185m years of Earth's history.

It covers 95 miles (150km) of coastline from Devon to Dorset.
